🔄 Vietnam Visa Run Process

1️⃣ Prepare before leaving Vietnam

Apply for a new visa in advance:

Via the Vietnam e-Visa system

Prepare:

Printed e-visa (or digital copy)

Passport (valid for at least 6 months)

(Recommended) Have proof of onward travel

👉 Do not do a visa run without securing a new visa first.

2️⃣ Travel to the border or airport

Most common from Ho Chi Minh City:

By land (to Cambodia):

Mộc Bài Border Gate

Bavet Border Crossing

Or by air:

Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport

3️⃣ Exit Vietnam

Present your passport at immigration

Get an exit stamp

👉 Always check that the exit stamp is applied

4️⃣ Enter another country

Example: Cambodia

You may need:

Cambodia visa (available on arrival)

Passport photo + fee (~$30–40)

👉 Some people only stay a few hours before returning

5️⃣ Return to the Vietnam border

Present:

Passport

New e-visa

Immigration may ask:

What are you doing in Vietnam?

How long will you stay?

Do you have an onward ticket?

6️⃣ Re-enter Vietnam

Receive an entry stamp

Check:

Correct visa type

Correct duration of stay
